Guidelines for Visitation

Valle Vista issues each patient a private identification number upon admission, which can be shared by the patient with family and friends. The ID will be required to visit or receive any updates about the patient. All visitors will be asked for this ID before entering the visiting area. Privacy laws prohibit the facility from admitting visitors without the patient’s permission.

When visiting patients at Valle Vista Health System, we ask that all family and friends adhere to the following rules and restrictions before and during their visit:

  • No outside food or drinks are allowed.
  • No purses, cell phones, cameras or car keys are allowed. Lockers are available to secure these items before visitation.
  • No children under age 14 are allowed during general visiting hours. Special arrangements can be made with the patient’s therapists if children under 14 need to visit.
  • All clothing/belongings for the patient must be checked in at the nurses’ station on the unit.
