Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Valle Vista Health System offers a level of care for patients who don’t need around-the-clock care or need to “step down” as a transition from an inpatient hospital setting.
Enrollment for the adult PHP is usually two weeks, but can vary based on patient needs.
Our Adult Partial Hospitalization Program
Our adult partial hospitalization program for mental health is a full-time day program that takes place five days a week. Here, you or your loved one will attend therapies and work on skills that focus on not just your mental health issues, but who you are as a person.
People are not all the same, and their treatment should not be one-size-fits-all either. Our various offered therapies are designed to get to the root of the mental health concerns and work on growth.
Adult PHP components at Valle Vista include:
- Meetings Monday through Friday, typically 9 a.m to 3 p.m., but hours can vary.
- Individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy as well as counseling as ordered by the psychiatrist or nurse practitioner.
Who is PHP for?
Partial hospitalization mental health treatment may not be for everyone, but the schedule, intensity and structure can be extremely beneficial for those who require a full-time day program.
People who attend adult PHP may benefit from short-term treatment that takes place throughout each day, as it allows patients to return home or to transitional living arrangements at night while still receiving intensive treatment in the day.
Those who are entering treatment for the first time may find PHP a strong alternative to an inpatient treatment program, as it is less restrictive, but features therapies and treatments that can provide long-term positive outcomes.
Adults who are stepping down from an inpatient treatment facility or up from an intensive outpatient program may find PHP beneficial as a way to remain connected to their treatment and the continuum of care.
